Definitions and sources

How we measure

Every figure on this site comes with a definition, a period and a source. This is where they live, so you can check any number before you trust it.

Blended return

Total store revenue divided by total ad spend, across every channel, over the same period. It counts every sale, not only the ones an ad platform claims.

Source: [store platform] revenue and [ad platforms] spend. Each figure states its period and number of clients.

Returning revenue

Revenue from customers who have ordered before. Shown either as a share of total revenue or as the change in that share; each figure says which.

Source: [store platform or Klaviyo]. [Window, e.g. repeat within 12 months.]

Conversion lift

The change in the share of visitors who place an order, against the same store before the change or against a control in an A/B test.

Source: [analytics tool or testing tool]. [Minimum sample or test length.]

Revenue influenced

[Zain: exact definition, e.g. total revenue of client stores during the months RedPxl ran their account.]

Source: [store platforms]. [Number of clients], [start date] to [end date].

Cost per acquisition

Ad spend divided by new customers acquired in the same period.

Source: [ad platforms] spend, [store platform] new customers.

Repeat order rate

The share of customers who place a second order within a set window.

Window: [e.g. 90 days]. Source: [store platform].

Flow revenue share

Revenue from automated email and SMS flows, divided by total store revenue.

Source: Klaviyo attributed revenue, [attribution window]; [store platform] total revenue.

Store load

Largest Contentful Paint on a mobile connection: the time until the main image or text appears on screen.

Tool: [e.g. PageSpeed Insights field data]. Date tested shown with each figure.

Click-through rate

Clicks divided by impressions, for the ad or campaign named.

Source: [ad platform], period shown with each figure.

Attribution window

How long after someone clicks or views an ad a purchase is still credited to it.

We state the window with every figure that comes from an ad platform.

Our rules for every number

Four rules every figure on this site has to pass before it goes live.

We only publish our own work

Only figures from accounts we run, published with the client’s agreement.

We date and source every figure

Every figure shows its period and its source.

We say how many clients and when

Figures across several clients say how many clients and which dates.

We keep every figure current

When a figure goes out of date we update it or take it down.
